COVID-19 kept the Common Denominator Tour from ever taking off. In its stead is the Common Denominator Newsletter.
Steven Borne, President of the Rye Civic League and author of Consuming Government, presents and leads three parts:
1) NH Tools for Civic Engagement — a host of tools and resources are available for NH communities, from Citizen's Count and Plan NH to the NH Cooperative Extension, NH Listens and the No Labels Unity campaign. Borne puts them in context and explains how and when to leverage them.
2) Local Civic Activities — drawing on his experience with the Rye Civic League, Borne shares what could be emulated locally, and pulls applicable topics from Consuming Government. Use cases from communities across NH are captured here on the site as the tour continues.
3) What This Community Can Be Doing — a listening-circle discussion where small groups brainstorm and present their top ideas.
Attendees leave with a better understanding of existing tools and resources, plus a potential action list to move forward with. Every NH community needs local Community Champions — ideally the heads of the local Republican and Democratic parties and a few other influential residents. Contact Steven Borne to reserve a date and time for your community.
